Kasey Haws began his legal career in 1985 as an attorney at the Orange County office of the international law firm Latham & Watkins. He practiced in the area of civil litigation and employment law and served as the head of the employment law practice group. Kasey also organized and chaired the first Employment Law Seminar conducted by the Orange County Bar Association.

After six years, he left to join Mundell, Odlum, & Haws, LLP in San Bernardino, CA in 1991. Kasey still practices in the areas of civil litigation and employment law as well as education law. He has been the outside general counsel for a large urban school district since 2001.

Kasey has also devoted significant time to public office and community service in the Inland Empire. He served as an elected member of the Redlands City Council from 1999 – 2003 and as the Mayor in 2001 – 2003.

In the past he has served as the pro bono legal counsel and board member for Redlands Baseball for Youth, Redlands AYSO, Redlands Educational Partnership Foundation, Inland Empire Council of Boy Scouts of America and the Redlands Bicycle Classic. In 2012 Kasey and his wife Julia were honored as the Distinguished Citizens of the Year by the Greyback District of Boy Scouts of America.

Kasey has previously lived abroad in several Latin American countries and speaks fluent Spanish. Most recently, from 2016 to 2019, he volunteered his time as a full-time Mission President for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Villahermosa, Mexico.
